Outside The Office
When Dr. Monica is not busy creating beautiful smiles, she enjoys traveling, listening to music, reading, watching TV, and most of all, relaxing and spending time with her husband, Ajay, and her children, Isha and Sahil.
Dr. Monica feels strongly about giving back to the community, and does so through donations and sponsorship to local schools, sports teams and other non-profit groups. She volunteers at her children’s schools in whatever way possible and is involved in community outreach projects.

Dr. Monica began her career as a dentist in India, where she went through five years of training at Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai. When she moved to the United States, she pursued her D.M.D. degree at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating at the top of her class with high honors and a GPA of 4.0. Orthodontics had always been the field that she had been drawn towards, and Columbia University was an ideal place to immerse into it. After completing her specialization in Orthodontics, she went into private practice in Stamford, where she worked for over five years before starting Smile Art Orthodontics in Wilton.
Dr. Monica attends numerous meetings and conferences, as well as online continuing education courses throughout the year to keep abreast of current research and developments in the orthodontic field. Additionally, she has been on the faculty of Columbia University since 2001 as a clinical instructor for the orthodontic residents. Her role as an educator also keeps her up-to-date with the latest technological advances in orthodontics, enabling her to provide the best possible care to her patients and maintain a cutting-edge practice.
Academic and Professional Achievements
Dr. Monica has excelled both academically and clinically throughout her years of training and practice. She graduated with high honors and a GPA of 4.0 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and received the National Board Achievement Award for her outstanding performance on the Dental Boards. Dr.Monica is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and in 2002, she was awarded the Shepard Award of Distinction by the American Board of Orthodontics for achieving the highest score nationally on the board certification examination.
